Russo-Japanese War Redux
As talk of reducing sanctions on Russian oil ran through my head, I started thinking about when the German Kaiser goaded the Russian Tsar into attacking Japan back in 1904 because in the Tsar's hubris and thinking of the Japanese as less than the great Russians, he thought of course he could beat them. He lost.
And as we hit this point where we are told once again Russia is going to win. And this really does suck because higher oil prices and more access for Russian oil really does solve one of the Russian leader's problems. (And as a side benefit for him, it also once again punishes Europe, for what, trying to be moral and not be an Empire.)
I started to think what I haven't seen in all the conspiracy theorizing and analysis is the question of whether the Russia head of state goaded the American head of state (or his unqualified chief negotiator who has been going between negating with Russia and Iran) into this war.
And what would be more fun for the Russian leader than goading the Americans into another quagmire which makes the Europeans need his oil. And also lets him smirk over just how clever he is and how clueless his so-called friend is.
It feels like two little boys playing a game with each other where everyone else and everything else are just seen as a different class, as just toys. They may have to live in their own narcissistic nightmares, why are the rest of us living (and dying) in them too?
